BIJAPUR: A red alert warning was issued by the Meteorological Department. Although there has been light rain at some places in the district for the last 24 hours, traffic on the road connecting Bijapur to Telangana and Maharashtra has come to a stand still due to rains in the border areas of Maharashtra and Telangana.
The water level of the drain on the road connecting Somanpalli in Maharashtra, 15 km away from Bhopalpatnam block headquarters, increased in the early hours. On the other hand, on the Telangana route, the road got submerged due to rising water level near Gangaram. As a result, the wheels of vehicles passing through Bijapur and coming in this direction stopped on both the interstate routes.
